Burnout Marks all Along Highway 90
Cruisin’ the Coast has come to a close but it’s left a few unwelcome sights behind. According to Biloxi Police, burnout marks all along Highway 90 are something they see after every Cruisin’ the Coast. The burnouts come from drivers trying to show off their sweet rides and spinning tires causing black lines on the roadway. It is very dangerous especially near the large crowd that comes to be a part of the coast wide event. Cruisin’ has designated spots for this type of driving, such as an autocross. Police say they want this to stop so that they can avoid injuries from it getting out of control in a large crowd. Tim Mckaig said to News 25, "I guess they like to spin their tires because they like to show their muscle in their cars. We try to discourage it because it is dangerous primarily." Although this is an issue they see each year with Cruisin’ the Coast, police feel they had a successful year.
