Sea Wolves surprise 5-year-old struck by puck during weekend game
A puck to the head led one Coast kid to meet his hockey heroes!
Biloxi’s biggest Sea Wolves fan, 5-year-old Cooper Diaz, was in the stands watching the boys play this weekend when he was suddenly hit in the head by a hockey puck, forcing him to leave the game and get staples.
However, when Sea Wolves Coach Joe Pace and Yianni Liarakos heard of his injury, they made sure to make it up to him.
They both surprised Cooper by stopping at his home and giving him a Sea Wolves jacket and stick.
Today, the Sea Wolves held a party at Walk-On’s in D’Iberville where Cooper and his family reunited with the team once again. Coach Pace said, “We had to crash his Super Bowl party to come say hi, but it was fun and it was great to meet him and the best part of the whole thing was he wasn’t even upset until he was told he had to leave the game. He’s a true hockey fan. He would’ve sat there bleeding all night just to watch us play.”
Luckily, Cooper was able to make it home in time to watch the Sea Wolves take the win in overtime.
