Insurance Commissioner Now Running Unopposed
The Reform Party will not have a candidate for Mississippi Insurance Commissioner on the November 3rd ballot.
That leaves incumbent Republican Mike Chaney unopposed for a third term. The Board of Election Commissioners met Wednesday and removed Reform candidate Johnny McLeod of Hattiesburg from the ballot, saying he could not prove he has lived in the state for at least five years.
