Unity march and prayer event in Biloxi on Saturday

People will be stepping up in Downtown Biloxi this weekend.

A unity march and prayer event is scheduled to take place in Biloxi this Saturday. It will start at the Biloxi Town Green and end on the front steps of Biloxi City Hall.

This event focuses on bringing awareness and a unified stance against hate, racism, discrimination, and violence.

Almost two weeks ago, there was a unity and prayer march held in Gulfport which inspired the rally scheduled this weekend in Biloxi. Event Organizer Greg Whitfield said, “We believe that the problems we are having in America are more of a sin problem than a skin problem. It’s not a black and white issue. It’s an American issue. What we want do is bring awareness to this issue of racism, discrimination, hatred, and violence in our communities. We want to bring awareness to this issue and put our faith to work.”

The unity march and prayer is set for Saturday, June 20th at 9 a.m. in Biloxi. A march through Downtown Ocean Springs will be held tonight at 6 p.m.

Another rally in Gulfport will be at the Harrison County Courthouse for 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
