Home of Grace bringing hope and healing on International Overdose Awareness Day
August 31st marks International Overdose Awareness Day.
It’s a day set aside to remember those we’ve lost to overdose, acknowledge the grief of families and friends left behind, and renew our commitment to end overdose and related harms.
Home of Grace continues to bring hope and healing to those struggling with addiction. They’ve been helping for more than 57 years.
A three-month recovery program at Home of Grace includes an orientation to the Christ-centered program followed by two distinct phases.
Each phase builds upon the other and has specific focus, established goals, responsibilities, and requirements for successful completion.
Amanda Hebert is currently going through the program and shares with us her road to recovery. “I had remarried to a really great guy and in November, I overdosed and I woke up in the ICU days later and they said that he was gone and they ruled his death as a suicide and for the next eight months, I didn’t lean on God. I used drugs and alcohol to numb the pain. I was blessed enough to have friends and family that prayed me here and it’s by the grace of God that I got to Home of Grace.”
