‘Trick or Treat Down the Street’ in Ocean Springs
Get your sweet tooth ready because it is almost time for the spookiest holiday of the year. Halloween is Thursday with plenty of fun along the Coast.
In Ocean Springs, their popular event ‘Trick or Treat Down the Street’ will begin at 6 p.m. and go until 8. The streets of the downtown area will be lined with local merchants to come out of their shops and restaurants to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.
New this year is a ‘Witches Bike Ride’ through town that will kick off at 5:30 to begin the night. There will also be a ‘Thriller’ dance routine by the Ocean Springs High School’s theatre department in front of Lovelace Drugs. Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cynthia Sutton said, “It is mostly going to be those business owners that have a shop in downtown, but we are also going to have a handful of those businesses that are away from downtown that are going to set up tents and tables and give out candy. So it is a fun way to get people in downtown and it is a family friendly event for the whole family to come out and trick-or-treat in a safe way and then enjoy some of the amenities that we have to offer in downtown.”
Local businesses can still get involved with ‘Trick-or-Treat Down the Street.’ Call the Historic Ocean Springs Association or the Chamber of Commerce to reserve a spot.
