Taste of Stone County
Local organizations and residents in Stone County came together for a taste of food and fun on Saturday.
The inaugural ‘Taste of Stone County’ was organized by the Stone County Economic Development Partnership as a way to celebrate ‘National Make a Difference Day.’
Attendees spent the day at Blaylock Park in Wiggins listening to good music, checking out cool animals from Wild Acres, and voting on their favorite food vendor.
Proceeds from the different vendors go to support charities of their own choosing as well as prize money from the winning vendor. Stone County Economic Development Partnership Executive Director Betsy Rowell said, “This is just a way that we felt very strongly would give back to a community that has supported our organization so heavily.”
‘Taste of Stone County’ organizers say they plan to make it an annual event.
