’99 Sea Wolves Reunion

The Mississippi Sea Wolves are back on the Gulf Coast, even if it’s just for one night.
Fans were able to come out to the Island View Casino tonight for the 1999 Kelly Cup Champion Sea Wolves reunion party, featuring the one and only Coach Bruce Boudreau. The ’99 team won 41 games on their way to the championship.
In 2010, the Sea Wolves became the Mississippi Surge which suspended operations in 2014.
Coach Boudreau spoke with News 25 at the reunion, fondly remembering that championship season. “Seventeen years later, it just goes to prove how special that whole year was. I’ll never forget it. My son was born that year here, won my first championship here. It was pretty cool.”
After coaching the Sea Wolves, Boudreau went on to coach in the NHL with the Washington Capitals and the Anaheim Ducks.
