9/9 – Rob’s September Weekend Forecast

Yesterday evening, an area of upper level low-pressure developed in NW’tern Gulf. This will bring the moisture back into the area a bit earlier than previously expected. This morning showers are hugging the outer coastal waters with isolated activity along the coast through today. The main area of activity will be along the mouth of the Mississippi and NW into the Lake Pontchartrain area and west. Coastal Mississippi will have minimal activity as drier air continues to filter into the region. Increased moisture flow will continue through the weekend as an approaching cold front moves Saturday night and stalls just north of the southern 6. Rain potential will elevate Sunday along with a few t-storms potentially becoming SEVERE Sunday afternoon.
