9/13 – Rob Knight’s “Tracking TS Nicholas” Morning Forecast

The moisture flow is back with a vengeance, which for the next several days showers/t-storms will be able to produce heavy rainfall. Activity will be moving at a good pace for the next few days which will help keep rainfall totals for any individual storm within tolerance.

With a farther west forecast for Nicholas than some of the models were hinting at yesterday, it will keep tide levels higher than normal west of the river but should stay within 1 to 1.5 feet above normal levels and this would not prompt a coastal flood advisory. All this being said, any forecast that shifts this system east, will bring these numbers higher and would produce headlines.

There is much uncertainty in the extended portion of the forecast regarding the eventual disposition of Nicholas.
