9/1 – Chris’s “Rain Is Here” Friday Afternoon Forecast

An area of low pressure has formed along a stalled frontal boundary west of the area. We can expect much needed showers and thunderstorms, as activity will enhance this afternoon with daytime heating continually destabilizing the atmosphere. The area of low-pressure west will slowly retrograde to the west and NW but play a big factor in keeping wet conditions in the area through Labor Day.

As the area of low pressure moves west, it will open the gulf up for a stream of deep tropical moisture to flow daily for the next several days. This means your Labor Day weekend will be cooler and filled with much needed showers and thunderstorms. Rain chances for today through Sunday will be at 70% decreasing slightly to 50% on Monday. If you have any outdoor plans this weekend; closely monitor the forecast by downloading the WXXV Weather Authority App. As we head into Tuesday there will be drier air surging limiting shower and thunderstorm activity. High temperatures will max out in the upper 80s/low 90s this weekend into next week.
