85th birthday drive-thru celebration
Living to be 85-years-old is a milestone to celebrate and the Barnett family couldn’t go without honoring their mother Irene’s special day.
The backbone of the family is what they call her and they say she’s the glue that holds everybody together.
Since COVID restricted family and social interaction, the Barnett’s hosted a drive-thru birthday celebration for the woman they love.
Family traveled from Alabama, Atlanta, and Texas to celebrate the milestone with their loved ones. Mrs. Irene’s son Glyn Freeman said, “Normally we would all get together and celebrate my mom’s birthday and because of the virus, we all know that we have to comply the distance and everything. We didn’t want to expose her to any of the viruses. So, we got together along with the Gulfport Police Department. We decided that we were just going to drive by and give tribute to her 85th birthday.”
The family is looking forward to many more birthdays and cherishes their memories that will last a life time.
