85th Annual Mississippi Municipal League
More than 3,000 elected officials from all over the state met up on the Coast for four days of education sessions aimed at helping local leaders move our communities forward.
The 85th annual Mississippi Municipal League Conference continued today with an expo showcasing over 200 businesses, state agencies and other organizations.
Educational classrooms included learning how to facilitate economic redevelopment, promoting community growth, how to generate tourism dollars and more. Mississippi Municipal League Executive Director Shari Veazey said, “We have to help them learn to address those issues as far as water, sewer, infrastructure, public safety, economic development, making improvements to their downtown. All of our cities are dealing with some type of issue and they can learn from each other but we also have a lot of really good classes that they can take while they’re down here.”
Attorney General Jim Hood is set to speak in front of the league tomorrow. The conference continues through Thursday.
