8/24 – Rob’s “Tropical Weather Prep” Forecast

High-pressure continues to dominate the area as a frontal boundary to the north washes out. The rest of the workweek will bring seasonal conditions with afternoon t-storms and hot temps.

TROPICAL UPDATE:A broad area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave is located near Guadeloupe, just east of the lesser Antilles. Although environmental conditions are only marginally conducive for development, this system could become a tropical depression during the next day or two while it moves west-northwest at 15 to 20 mph across the Leeward Islands and the Greater Antilles. Conditions could become more conducive later this week while the system moves near the SE/Central Bahamas. Although it is still a ways out, several models are indicating movement over Florida and into the SE’tern Gulf over the weekend into next week.
