8/9 – Jeff Vorick’s “Hot, Hot, Hot” Wednesday Evening Forecast
As has been the case for a while, dangerous heat continues into this evening. Heat alerts expire at 7 PM but it will still be VERY uncomfortable outside well into the night. South-to-southwesterly flow continues to pump in humidity. Temperatures will struggle to cool into the low-80s.
Again, the heat continues through the end of this week. Tomorrow will have more sunshine and it will be a tad hotter than today. An Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect from 11 AM until 7 PM with the exception of George and Stone County under a Heat Advisory beginning at 10 AM. Only a few clouds will be around both days.
The pattern does change somewhat Friday into the weekend. Some energy from thunderstorm complexes has the potential to make it into the area Friday and Saturday. Coverage and confidence are not particularly high. While the heat continues on in the extended, rain chances make a return.
