8/9 – Chris “Extreme Heat Today” Wednesday Afternoon Forecast

We will experience another day of high temperatures in the upper 90s. This means that there is an EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING from until 7PM today for heat indices from 110-116. This will come under partly cloudy skies especially north of I-10.  There is EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH FROM 11AM – 7PM  Thursday for heat indices from 110-116. One thing to note is Thursday could be the hottest day of the week.  Rain chances will be hard to come by Thursday and Friday as the heat wave continues.

As we head into the weekend  temperatures are in the mid 90s with a slight chance of  a thunderstorm Saturday afternoon. Sunday is when we return to a more typical summertime pattern. This means we will see elevated thunderstorm chances for Sunday and Monday as the sea-breeze kicks back up again. This trend will continue into the start of the new work week. This will bring much relief to the oppressive heat we have had.
