8/6 – Rob Knight’s Monday Morning Forecast

The overall weather pattern continues to remain rather typical for this time of the year, with continued near-normal afternoon highs and spotty thunderstorms to follow. However, things should slowly begin to change as we progress through the middle and later part of the week with a steady evolving weather pattern expected.

Expect more widespread coverage of afternoon convection to reside with better upper-dynamic support and deep-layer moisture to our west, or generally along and west of I-55. Rain chances will generally be lower to the east across coastal MS thanks to subsidence in the vicinity of a surface high across the S Atlantic coast.

Expect typical afternoon spotty storm chances over land areas, but with better convective coverage over marine and coastal zones. By Thursday and into Friday, a changing patter will lead to higher rain chances.
