8/17 – Jeff Vorick’s “Less Humid For Now ” Thursday Evening Forecast
With the exception of some of the immediate beachfront, humidity did not make much of a return today. Heat indices around 100 degrees for some of you will be around this evening. A few very stray clouds will clear overnight. Humidity makes a true return overnight especially into tomorrow.
It will be slightly hotter and more humid for your Friday. Sunshine will be very dominant but heat indices will still be manageable in the low to mid 100s. Heat Advisory criteria will not be met. Saturday is when the humidity becomes more sustained and heat alerts may become necessary.
Rain chances start to return by Sunday. It will still be very hot and humid to end the weekend and make no mistake; the heat will be the main concern as strong high pressure controls the pattern. A tropical wave will move through the Gulf of Mexico during the early portion of next week. It has the potential to elevate rain chances for South Mississippi.
