7/27 – The Chiefs “Above Average Temperatures Ahead” Thursday Morning Forecast

Not much difference this morning than the past couple of days with another warm and humid start. A possible shower can be expect this afternoon but very LIMITED activity through Friday. High pressure will continue to be the main factor shaping the forecast into the final weekend of July…more so into early August, as RECORD HIGH temperatures will be expected next week. Heat indice values will continue to be on the manageable side into the weekend, but begin to increase into the danger zone net week.

As we begin to head into the weekend, dew-point temperatures will rise just enough to cause heat advisories to once again resume. This may start Saturday and carry through at least Monday. Sunday we will begin to see more in the way of thunderstorm coverage which could aid in cool things down, however this should occur late enough in the day that the heat advisory criteria should be reached. Same thing is in store for Monday due to an easterly wave moving through the gulf. This feature now over Florida should begin moving over the eastern gulf by Friday afternoon. On Monday afternoon showers and thunderstorms will move east to west across the area with daytime highs in the Mid 90s.
