7/19 – The Chief’s “Hot Temps/Low Rain Chances” Wednesday Morning Forecast
Another day of dangerous heat is expected across the area. A HEAT ADVISORY goes in effect from 12 pm until 7 pm as heat indices will max out between 107 to 111 degrees. High pressure is the dominant feature and will continue to be so through Friday afternoon. The main story is still how hot the temperatures will be today and through the rest of the workweek, with temperatures in the mid-90s. We can expect Heat Indices from 107 to 111 each day with heat advisories expected. This week is a good time to practice summertime safety tips if you are going to be outside. With high pressure dominant, rain chances are almost nonexistent until Friday. Changes will occur with the overall pattern Friday with an approaching cold front from the NW.
There is some good news as a change in the overall pattern is in the forecast for Saturday through the start of the workweek, as a front moves in to the central portions of Mississippi causing rain chances to elevate. This front will stall out and become stationary through Monday. This will cause temperatures to return closer to average with increased cloud coverage. On Tuesday the stationary front will move off to east decreasing rain chances and once again elevating high temperatures.
