6/24 – Sam’s “Hot and Unsettled” Tuesday Evening Forecast
Temperatures are on the rise through Wednesday and then we’ll see the rain chance jump up as we head into the weekend.
Thanks to strong high pressure across the eastern half of the U.S., we are sitting a few degrees above average in South Mississippi. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 90s for your Wednesday with the rain chance looking slim through the day. It’s not until late in the evening, or early overnight hours, when another cluster of storms moves west into the area between midnight and 3 am, and could be packing strong winds and even some small hail. There is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms with that overnight cluster, but it will move through pretty quick.
Temperatures return back to normal values heading from Thursday into the weekend when we’ll see rain chances increase to 60% and then 70% on Saturday and Sunday. Rainfall amounts during the next week will likely top 1-3″, especially with heavier downpours.
