6/16 Sam Lucey’s “Another Rainy” Monday Evening Forecast
Happy Monday South Mississippi!
Temperatures this afternoon reached the upper 80s and low 90s across the coastal areas with showers and storms sparking up pretty early on. Most areas picked up between .25″ and .50″ but a few spots picked up a little over .75″ with repetitive storms passing overhead.
Ultimately, Tuesday won’t be much different. Clouds and rain will persist once we get into the afternoon, and should be dwindling by the time we reach sunset at 8:00 pm although there may be a few showers lingering until midnight. Rainfall sticks around as we head through Wednesday, Thursday and Friday but it’s looking like our temperatures will start to creep into the low 90s by the end of the week as well.
By next week the sub-tropical high could strengthen and build into the area, bringing slightly lower rain chances and hotter temperatures as we kick off the official start of summer on Friday, June 20th.
