6/10 – Sam Lucey’s “Rinse and Repeat” Tuesday Evening Forecast
Another evening of rain across south Mississippi with rainfall totals over the last 24 hours reaching 3 to 5 inches, and more of the same can be expected.
For your Tuesday night, expect cloudy and wet conditions as rainfall persists into the early overnight hours. Temperatures will be in the mid to lower 70s across the area with highs on Wednesday in the upper 80s. The rain returns on Wednesday with a 50-70% chance throughout the day. This is all due to a cold front slightly off to our north, which will be washing out across the Gulf Coast and leading to several more rounds of showers and storms this week.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday look to be relatively wet across coastal Mississippi with future rainfall totals anywhere from 2 to 4 inches or higher in stronger thunderstorms. This could lead to flash flooding, especially in low-lying areas, or areas where we have already seen a substantial amount of rain. If you come across flooded roadways, please find an alternate route!
Not much will change temperature wise this week, as we’ll be sitting in the mid to lower 70s overnight and by the afternoon warming into the upper 80s with a couple low 90s depending on where showers and thunderstorms form.
As far as the tropics go, we are expected to remain quiet over the next seven days.
