586 new COVID-19 cases reported in Mississippi over the weekend, no new deaths

(WXXV) — Today’s report from the Mississippi State Department of Health includes total cases and deaths from both Saturday and Sunday.

MSDH is reporting an additional 586 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and no deaths. 233 cases were reported as of Saturday the 17th, and 353 cases were reported as of Sunday the 18th.

Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 110,592, with 3,171 deaths.

Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 3 new cases in residents of long-term care facilities, and no deaths.

There are currently 127 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
