5/19 – Rob’s “HEAVY RAIN” Forecast

As the STRONG TROPICAL moisture continues to flow into the area, cloudy skies and humid conditions will continue into the weekend. Today will bring an increased chance for afternoon T-Storms due to max heating and decreasing stability through the atmosphere. A low-pressure and associated cold front will begin to move into the area tonight providing for showers and thunderstorms mainly after midnight through Friday. HEAVY RAIN along with the potential for a FEW SEVERE STORMS will affect the region with the POSSIBILITY for 1-3” of rainfall. FLASH FLOODING from HEAVY RAIN will be the main threat…along with the slight possibility for SMALL HAIL, STRONG STRAIGHT-LINE WINDS and of course…TORNADIC ACTIVITY. The activity will begin to tapper-off Friday afternoon as the cold front moves through the area Friday night. Clouds will continue through Saturday morning with clearing around midday…
