Harrison County fire crews and the Gulfport Fire Department put out a massive house fire on North White Swan Drive in Gulfport Sunday afternoon. All five family members escaped after the house caught fire.
According to firefighters, the flames detonated ammunition in the garage and spread through the attic, destroying the two-story home.
News 25 caught up with the home-owner’s brother who was there when fire crews were fighting to put out the blaze. Gulfport Resident Jerry Keyhea said, “I was coming from my house, headed out and seen all the smoke coming out and I was wondering what was going on and come to find out it was my sister’s house burning down! Never seen nothing like that in my life, never seen a house burning like that.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
