5/12 – Payton’s Sunday Night Forecast

Heavy rainfall this weekend has cleared the area, but the flooding threat lasts. Rivers continue to rise and the main rivers being watched at the moment are the Biloxi, Wolf and Tchoutacabouffa. The Biloxi River is expected to crest near record levels Monday morning around 19.5 feet. This is similar to what Hurricane Isaac caused in 2012. The Wolf River is expected to crest in Moderate Flood Stage at 13.5 feet late Monday night into Tuesday Morning. The Tchoutacabouffa River is forecast to crest in Minor Flood stage at 12.5 feet. This week will be drier and mostly sunny with warm temperatures in the lower to mid 80s. This weekend will be warm, humid and a few showers are possible.
