Over 46,000 Absentee Ballots Requested for Primary Election

Some people have already cast their ballots for the primaries.

At last check Monday morning, more than 46,000 Mississippians had requested absentee ballots for today’s Primary Election.

The deadline for casting absentee ballots wrapped up Monday at 5 pm, and the final overall count on their return is not yet in.

In all, as of 8 am Monday morning, the Secretary Of State’s office reported Circuit Clerk’s offices throughout Mississippi had received back 41,097 of the 46,545 absentee ballots requested for Tuesday’s Primary Election.

More than 1.8 million Mississippians are registered to vote in the upcoming general election on November 5th.
