4/28 – Rob’s “Rain Ahead” Tuesday Morning Forecast

Surface high-pressure to our east will bring the return flow to the area. Winds will stay elevated through the next 36 hours with a cold front moving through the area Wednesday through the day. A disturbance over Oklahoma will track east through today.

The disturbance over northwest CONUS will dive southeast and intensify the main front over the northern and central plains this afternoon. Moisture will pool along a shallow slope frontal boundary…as a result, will high rain chances with more showers and scattered embedded storms along the front Tuesday night into Wednesday. A few strong to severe storms in a line are possible with hail and strong to damaging wind gusts being the main factor but cannot rule out an isolated tornado early Wednesday morning. Showers and storms will linger through Wednesday day period as isolated rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches can be expected. Dry conditions are expected through Thursday through the weekend.
