3/8 – Jeff’s “Chance of Showers” Wednesday Afternoon Forecast

Cloud coverage will be more dominant today as compared to the previous couple of days. Some peeks of sunshine can be expected this afternoon. Also, 30-40% coverage of pop-up showers will be present. This evening, a piece of energy to our north will be close enough to our area to provide for a 30% chance of showers.

Rain chances will diminish overnight. However, fog will be poised to develop across the area tonight. Mild and muggy conditions will continue. Cloud coverage and fog in the morning will dissipate by noon Thursday leading to more in the way of sunshine. A 20% chance of showers cannot be ruled out.

Dominant ridge of high pressure will break down towards the end of this week. As it does so, this will allow for the storm track to shift southward. A cold front will make it through South Mississippi Friday evening. It will provide for a 30% chance of showers Friday afternoon.

There will be cooler conditions for Saturday morning. More humidity returns into Sunday as another system will come through. Another cold front will provide for a 40-50% chance of showers and thunderstorms later on Sunday. The second cold front will be stronger and will provide for a return to seasonal conditions next week.
