2nd Annual Otter Trotter 5K

Over 200 runners woke up bright and early to kick off their Thanksgiving day by participating in the 2nd Annual Otter Trotter.


Kurt Allen President & Chief Executive Officer at Mississippi Aquarium said, “it was just a way great to support our community and bring families together before they go out and really spend some quality time with their families this afternoon.”

Jack Hewes participated in the Otter Trotter 5k last year just for fun not knowing he would ultimately love the sport of running.

Race winner, Jack Hewes said, “at this race was the first run i ever did and after that i joined my track team we won state as a team and then this year we just finished up cross county and we won again so I’m just getting into it and I have fallen in love with running.”

Kurt Allen President & Chief Executive officer at Mississippi Aquarium said, ”the three pillars of our company is education conservation and community and this is just another way for us to support our community.”


Now that the 5kOtter Trotter race is over Hewes said he is just ready to relax and enjoy the rest of the day


Jack Hewes , race winner said, “eat a lot of turkey and I’m going to start my training up for track season so yeah.”
