25 Teams in 25 Days: Pearl River Central Blue Devils

There’s no shortage of energy surrounding the Pearl River Central football program.

The Blue Devils flipped the script — and their record — last season, going from just two wins to seven. Now, they’re not satisfied with simply turning things around. They want it all.

“We were the underdogs last year. People know we’re coming this year, and we’re coming for it all,” said Carter Kirby.

“The hard work is paying off. We’re not the same team we were, and we’re putting in extra effort,” said Titus Feaster.

“We’re changing the culture around here. We had a couple losing seasons, but it’s a different level now. Coach Feaster came out here and changed everything. He changed how we come out here, how we practice, and the preparation. We’re coming, and we’re ready,” said Anthony Carpenter.

And that same mindset carries into 2026 — a season the Blue Devils are tackling with G.U.T.S.

“For G.U.T.S., the G is gratitude. Gratitude changes your perspective and changes how you view things, and your gratitude determines how you do what you do. Do I see today as it being hot and it’s going to be hard, or do I see it as another day to go out, be great, and be better under these circumstances? That’s gratitude. Unity, which is brotherhood. Toughness, because you’ve got to have physical and mental toughness. And strength, because we have Lord’s strength. Gratitude all starts with having that unwavering, blind faith,” said Head Coach John Feaster.

“All of us are a brotherhood, and we stick together. That’s what G.U.T.S. is all about — and hard work. We’re going to stick together, and we’re not going to fold under pressure. We’re going to stay composed,” said Titus Feaster.

“We’ve got guts. Our defense and offense are physically tough, so we’re coming, and we’re ready,” said Carpenter.

They’re ready — and they’ve got plenty of experience to lean on.

Head Coach John Feaster has several key contributors returning, especially on offense.

“We’ve got Kendall Morrison returning as a receiver. Titus is basically going into his third year as the starting quarterback and playing some defensive back. Up front, we’ve got Carter Kirby, who has worked his tail off to get offers up front, and I’m proud of his progress. On offense, I think we have six returning, and on defense we have five or six returners. Kids change and leadership changes, but the standard is the standard. Year in and year out, you’ve got to have the standard, and our standard is bring your best, play to the standard, not the scoreboard, and that’s the main thing for our kids. Make sure we’re playing to the standard and blocking out the outside noise, and I feel like we’re moving in the direction of that.”

Now, the Blue Devils are ready to put that standard to the test.

Fans will get their first look at Pearl River Central on August 28th, when the Blue Devils hit the road to take on Wayne County.
