25 Teams in 25 Days: Pass Christian Pirates
The Pass Christian Pirates are coming off the best season in program history, winning their first-ever regional title and finishing with a school-record of 11 wins and 2 losses.
The pirate ship was rolling last fall, but the Pirates aren’t satisfied. Now, the focus is turning last year’s breakthrough into an even deeper playoff run.
“The school district has made a commitment for us to be the best we can be and reach the maximum potential of our team,” said Head Coach Jeff Stockstill. “We’ve had a couple good years in the past, but that third round has kind of slapped us in the face, so the goal is obviously to take it one game at a time, but if we’re fortunate enough to reach that point of the season where you’re looking at that same goal, maybe this team will be a little stronger and a little more physical and maybe we can punch through that ceiling that’s been above us the past couple of years.”
And with nine starters returning on offense and six more on defense, the Pirates believe another special season is well within reach.
“We do have a big senior class. I think we can potentially put the right pieces in the right places. We talked about this all offseason, through spring training and through the summer, if we can put some good team chemistry together we could minimize the mistakes and get the communication level where it needs to be,” said Coach Stockstill. “I think we could potentially have a good year. I think we’ve done a pretty good job at moving people around to try to get as much depth in positions. We’ve only had a couple injuries and we’ll potentially get those guys back. If we minimize the injuries and the amount of players we rotate in different positions I think we can bridge a lot of gaps, but we’ll see.”
A key piece of the Pirate puzzle is dual-threat quarterback Paris Trivillion. Last season, he threw for more than 2,500 yards while adding over 1,100 more on the ground. But according to Head Coach Jeff Stockstill, it’s his leadership that makes the biggest difference.
“I’ve had some pretty solid quarterbacks in the last couple of decades and Paris has been a good one,” Coach Stockstill said. “He’s like a coach on the field. You can trust him to see things and check plays. He comes to film with the coaches to go over things and he picks up on what he sees and how he can relay it. He checks plays and picks up the guys around them and they respond to him just as much as they respond to one of the coaches.”
“We’re just going to take it one game at a time and win every game. Slow the weeks down and stay patient,” said Paris Trivillion. “We’ll just put it all on the field and all the work that we’ve put in during the offseason and showcase it to the whole coast.”
Trivillion may lead the offense, but the Pirates say their strength comes from every corner of the locker room.
“I think we’re really smart and I feel like we’re one of the smartest teams on the coast and we’re really disciplined. We know how to run our plays and we know why we run our plays,” said Trivillion.
“I think our receiving group is really athletic and I think we have really good hands and we’re really agile,” said Kaiden Mooney.
“The offensive line has a lot of experience. The two of us have been starting for three years now and we’ve got to hold it down. This is definitely the best squad that I’ve blocked for, and I think we’re going to go a long way this year. Last year was a good group, but this year is special,” said Jayden Necaise.
“The experience across all five of the offensive lineman alone is a strength. Everybody is a senior and you don’t stumble across that everyday,” said Andrew Murray.
“We know each other well and we know how to recover from ups and downs. We’re really good and we have a lot of chemistry together and we all love each other,” said Hunter Boling.
“The majority is speed,” said Cecil Lizana. “I feel like this whole year, summer and spring we worked on our speed, to quickly get out of there and make quick cuts and make things happen on the field.”
“I feel like us running backs are pretty reliable when it comes to us getting yards. I think we have a good group this year and we’ve been working on ourselves this summer and putting in the work. We’ve got the speed, so when we see that gap we’re out of there,” said Kedarrius Holmes.
The Pirates open the 2026 season on August 28 with an early test, taking on rival Long Beach in the annual Oyster Bowl.
