2024 Super Bowl in New Orleans moving to 2025 due to Mardi Gras
The National Football League thinks it might not be a good idea to host the Super Bowl in New Orleans during the same week as Mardi Gras.
The big game in the Big Easy is being moved from 2024 to 2025 as a result of the league’s new 17 game schedule in future years.
As it turns out, adding a game would have created a conflict between Super Bowl week and Fat Tuesday. Now, the NFL is giving New Orleans Super Bowl 59 instead of Super Bowl 58.
The Mercedes-Benz Superdome is currently under a multi-million renovation and has hosted seven Super Bowls, more than any other venue.
This season’s big game will be played in Tampa, Florida.
While the 2024 date remains open, but it could go to the new Las Vegas stadium.
