Event cancellations, closures due to Hurricane Zeta

Activities and events around South Mississippi have been cancelled or rescheduled because of bad weather associated with Hurricane Zeta:

  • Temple Baptist Church, located at 3 Rivers Road and Dedeaux Road in Gulfport, will be closed Wednesday night.
  • Harrison County is opening the following shelter locations at 2 p.m. Wednesday:
    • County Farm Road 361 Shelter, 15038 County Farm Road in Gulfport
    • Saucier Lizana Road 361 Shelter, 23771 Saucier Lizana Road in Saucier
  • Harrison County approved the closure of all county buildings, including both courthouses, at noon Wednesday. Buildings will reopen at 10 a.m.  Thursday unless otherwise noted.
  • MDOT is closing the Fort Bayou drawbridge on State Route 609 in Jackson County from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29.
  • Biloxi has self-serve sandbag locations staged at Beck Park at 671 Division Street; Migues Park at 425 Parker Street; Cavalier Park at 2059 Lawrence Street; Popps Ferry Soccer Fields at 2150 Popps Ferry Road; Fire Station 88 at 8479 Woolmarket Road; and Fire Station 9 at 9370 Oaklawn Road.
  • Ochsner Clinics in Hancock County will close at 12 p.m. Wednesday. All Ochsner hospitals and emergency departments will remain open.
  • Mississippi Power activated its Storm Center on Wednesday morning.
  • Wells Fargo Bank branches in Biloxi, Gulfport, Ocean Springs and Pascagoula will close at noon Wednesday.
  • Coast Roast and Bankhouse Coffee will close their shops at 12 p.m. Wednesday.
  • All Keesler Air Force Base services will close at 1 p.m. Wednesday and reopen at noon on Thursday. Keesler Medical Center will resume operations at 1 p.m. Thursday.
  • Coastal Family Health Center locations will close at 1 p.m. Wednesday and will reopen at regular scheduled time on Thursday.
  • Gulf Coast Mental Center will close at noon Wednesday and plans to reopen at 10 a.m. Thursday. please call on Thursday to reschedule appointments.
  • The Region XIII Commission for Mental Health — Intellectual Disability Programs of the Gulf Coast Mental Health Center has been rescheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Harrison County Courthouse.
  • The Harrison County Utility Authority (HCUA) is suspending all solid waste, recycling and yard waste routes at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Residents within the HCUA service area that do not receive curbside service before routes are suspended will be serviced early Thursday. The utility authority asks residents to have carts out curbside by 7 a.m. on Thursday.
  • Memorial Hospital will close campuses in Gulfport and Stone County at 3 p.m. Wednesday and resume normal hours of operation on Thursday. Any procedures or appointments after 3 p.m. are postponed. Memorial Physician Clinics are closing at 1 p.m.
  • Long Beach announces a curfew effective 5 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.
