(WXXV) — As schools reopen in South Mississippi, many parents and educators have expressed concern over the spread of coronavirus.
The Harrison County School District was notified Monday of the positive COVID-19 case involving a student at West Harrison High.
In a statement to WXXV, the district says it is “following all protocols pertaining to notification and reporting guidelines, along with cleaning and disinfecting procedure.”
Harrison County School District said in a post to social media, “If you or anyone in your household receives a positive COVID-19 test result, please keep your child at home and call the school immediately for further information. Also, if someone in your family is showing symptoms of COVID-19 or has pending test results, please keep your child at home and notify your child’s school.”
Harrison County schools reopened last week.
WXXV will have more information on this story as it becomes available.
