Conference USA Bowl lineup released


Conference USA has announced its new bowl lineup, a six year cycle spanning from 2020 to 2024.

Per Thursday’s release, the league will retain annual bids to the Bahamas Bowl against a Mid-American Conference opponent as well as the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl against a Sun Belt opponent.

C-USA also has an agreement with the Independence Bowl in 2021 and 2025, the Hawaii Bowl in 2020, 2022, and 2024, and the Lending Tree Bowl in Mobile.

The league’s remaining guaranteed selections in the cycle include:

  • The Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl where Southern Miss just played in January
  • The TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl
  • Boca Raton Bowl
  • Camellia Bowl
  • Cure Bowl
  • Fenway Bowl
  • Servpro First Responder Bowl
  • Tropical Smoothie Café Frisco Bowl
  • Gasparilla Bowl
  • Myrtle Beach Bowl
  • New Mexico Bowl

A native of Pass Christian and a St. Stanislaus alum, Jeff Haeger comes to News 25 from right in our backyard. He most recently spent more than three years working as the sports reporter for WHLT-TV in Hattiesburg, where he provided extensive coverage of his alma mater, The University of Southern Mississippi. At Southern Miss, Jeff was a member of the Honors College and graduated with a B.A. degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Spanish. He also wrote for USM's award-winning school newspaper, The Student Printz, where he won first place for Best Sports Story in 2013.
