JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV) — Jacob Scott Blair of Moss Point has been arrested on fourteen felony sex crimes charges, including child rape.
In Oklahoma, law enforcement received a tip that one of the U.S. Marshals’ Top 15 Most Wanted fugitives was hiding in Antlers, Oklahoma under a false identity.
At 11:00 p.m. Wednesday night, Pushmataha County Sheriff’s deputies, U.S. Marshals federal agents, and Choctaw Nation tribal police officers, took the suspect into custody without incident.
Scott’s arrest comes less than 24 hours after he was put on the U.S. Marshals’ most wanted list in a televised event broadcasted on Investigation Discovery’s “In-Pursuit with John Walsh.”
The announcement offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to Scott’s arrest.
Jacob Blair Scott was wanted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for sexual battery, touching a child for lustful purposes, and exploitation of a child.
Scott is also being charged by the United States Marshals’ Service for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in the Southern District of Mississippi.
The accusations against Scott arose when his stepdaughter became pregnant.
It is believed that Scott, a military veteran who received a purple heart for injuries obtained while deployed with the military, faked his suicide by launching a boat in an attempt to evade law enforcement.
His abandoned boat was found in Orange Beach, Alabama with a handgun inside in July 2018.
