High school students from the Coast are learning more about potential careers in healthcare.
William Carey University hosted a ‘Careers in Healthcare Symposium’ for those interested in the world of medicine at their Tradition Campus.
Today, students from Biloxi and Long Beach High heard about industries such as music therapy, osteopathic medicine, health administration, and nursing among others.
Director of Admissions Alissa King says the symposium gives students the chance to broaden their horizons about jobs in healthcare. “A lot of students may think of only, maybe, probably nursing or medicine, but there is so much more. A lot of times students, maybe they love helping people, but they don’t think they would be open to maybe drawing blood or working in that capacity.”
The symposium resumes tomorrow morning with students from Bay High and St. Martin High attending.
