Celebrations honoring Dr. Martin Luther King continued on Saturday in Moss Point with the goal of community outreach.
The Village Symposium at Moss Point High School was a part of the MLK Coastwide Celebration and featured a health fair for attendees and multiple breakout sessions, focusing on the state of the black family and topics relevant to youth and women in today’s society.
Jakavious Pickett moderated the ‘Man to Man Summit’ and says the event helps encourage others to create their own legacies. “Dr. King has a legacy that will live forever and we want to make sure that we’re also putting our people in position to be in those history books.”
This is the third year the symposium has been held as part of the coastwide celebration.
