According to Police Chief Matt Chapman, the suspect was in a bedroom of the home on Nathan Hale Avenue when the coroner’s office employee came home just before noon.

The homeowner fired at the armed suspect and Williams was pronounced dead on the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

Chapman also confirmed that Williams had a criminal history and was a suspect in several other burglaries in the city.
