Pet owners in Gulfport had the chance this Saturday to make sure their four-legged friends are healthy for the holidays.
The Humane Society of South Mississippi held their third pop-up clinic for pet owners, this time for those who live in the 39501 zip code.
Made possible through a grant from the Petco Foundation, the clinic offered free vaccinations and microchipping, along with spay and neuter vouchers.
Humane Society Development Director Katie King says the clinic is important for those who may struggle with the costs of pet healthcare. “We love to be able to give back to the community. We couldn’t do it without the Petco Foundation and the grants that we receive. It’s really a great feeling to be able to give back to the community, to the people in need.”
The Humane Society plans to host more pop-up clinics for different communities in the future.
