Dozens of Harrison County residents filled the room in Gulfport and many stood before the Board of Supervisors this morning expressing concerns over issues in their communities.
Today’s agenda included a resident’s wish to limit the discharge of firearms in his neighborhood as well as a request to build a walk-in clinic between Memorial Hospital and the Port.
The main topic hitting the floor was the request to change the zoning district of nearly 68 acres of land on the east and west side of Canal Road.
Harrison County resident Donald Evans says the area is currently zoned for very low density properties and should be compatible with the subdivisions already in place.
Evans hopes the Board of Supervisors will, after three years, reduce the density and lower the number of lots in the subdivision.
