It’s the season of giving and that’s just what the Gulfport Police Department plans to do for the annual Christmas Feed the Needy program.
For 30 years, Gulfport PD along with donors, other public safety agencies in Harrison County, and volunteers deliver meals to families in need this holiday season.
They can’t do it without a little help from the community. If you are interested in volunteering to take meals door to door all you have to do is show up at the Lyman Community Center on Christmas Day at 8 a.m.
Public Relations Rep. Sgt. Jason Ducré says it will only take a little of your time to make a huge impact. “It enables us to help out the community and be a part of something bigger than ourselves. It’s great helping other people. Take an hour and a half out of your day and help us deliver.”
The last day for families to make a request for a meal is December 16th. You can make your request at the following places:
- Biloxi Police Department
- D’Iberville Police Department
- Gulfport Police Department
- Long Beach Police Department
- Pass Christian Police Department
- Harrison County Sheriff’s Department
- Gulfport Fire Department
