As the holiday season ramps up, it’s a good time to make sure your vehicle is in prime condition.

You can also measure some things like tire air pressure, oil, and antifreeze levels with the right equipment at home.

Wayne Karl with Turan-Foley in Gulfport says they see an uptick in service requests around the holidays and stresses the importance of getting cars serviced by professionals. “We do a vast variety of repairs, but it’s important to have that technician look at the vehicle and they know there are safe and certified technicians looking at it.”

The U.S. Department of Transportation says around 91 percent of long-distance travel during the holiday season is done by personal vehicle.
