A nice start to your Monday morning! Meanwhile, as this surface high has slowly transitioned east, a steady deep moist return flow will increase afternoon spotty shower/storms across most of Louisiana and eastern Texas. Today should bring minimal activity if any at all. Generally speaking, better chances of rain and storms will persist over western areas today, and should refrain from reaching severe limits.
By Tuesday, afternoon rain and storm chances will again be on the rise thanks to a weak frontal boundary sagging south across the lower MS Valley region. Just enough frontogenetic lift will be in place to support better coverage of storms, as the earlier string of higher moisture stretches out ahead of the boundary, and spreads east across the entire area. Model soundings are not signaling anything significant in terms of severe weather, however a few strong storms cannot be ruled out.
