The German cockroach is one of the most common species of insect in the world and has developed a resistance to insecticides.
That’s according to researchers at Purdue University who applied various insecticides on three cockroach colonies over a six-month period.
They found most of the roaches survived. In fact many built a resistance to the chemicals which they passed down to their offspring.
The study published in Journal Scientific Reports and concluded that roaches are becoming harder to get rid of.
