St. Stanislaus Shuts Out St. Patrick 29-0 for First Regional Win

St. Stanislaus made a statement on its home turf, shutting out St. Patrick 29-0 in the latest edition of the “Catholic Cup” on Bookter Street. The Rock-A-Chaws earned their first regional win of the season with a dominant performance against the Fighting Irish.

The Rocks struck first with a field goal from sophomore kicker Jude Babin, who connected from 26 yards out to give St. Stanislaus a 3-0 lead. Quarterback Max Bernard helped move the chains early, connecting with Adam Oliver for a first down before senior running back Jaxen Halferty powered through the defense for another big gain.

St. Patrick struggled to find its rhythm offensively, with sophomore linebacker Brick Compretta making a stop on Eli Robertson to slow the Fighting Irish’s progress. The Irish defense also came up with a big play when Daniel Williams brought Bernard down in the backfield for a tackle for loss.

Babin gave the Rock-A-Chaws another reason to celebrate with a 51-yard field goal, extending the lead to 6-0 with a long-range kick right down the middle.

After another St. Patrick three-and-out, Bernard found Oliver down the middle for a key first down. The Rocks continued to move the ball before Halferty finished the drive with a touchdown run, pushing St. Stanislaus’ lead to 13-0 with 11 minutes remaining in the second quarter.

The Rock-A-Chaws maintained control the rest of the night, keeping the Fighting Irish off the scoreboard and securing a convincing 29-0 victory.

With the shutout win, St. Stanislaus picked up its first regional victory of the season and continued to build momentum as regional play moves forward.
