As the South Mississippi Summer Fair leaves another event makes its way to the Gulf Coast.
The City of Biloxi is prepping for this weekend’s Scrapin the Coast. Thousands are expected for the annual car and truck show which has become a summer staple in Biloxi for the past 17 years.
In anticipation of the heavy crowds, Biloxi is planning to place cones on Highway 90. Vincent Creel with the City of Biloxi tells News 25 they are asking drivers to be patient when traveling through Biloxi this weekend. “You’re going to see more cars and most of them are going to be on Highway 90. Chances are you’re going to see them on Pass Road, you’re going to see them on Beauvoir, you’re going to see them all over the city. It’s just like Cruisin’ the Coast as in it’s a vehicle-oriented event. They want to get in the cars. They want to travel back and forth along Highway 90 and quite frankly enjoy our community.”
Creel says Biloxi plans to begin placing cones out as early as Wednesday morning.
