Today, seniors at West Harrison High School traveled to North Gulfport Middle School to continue one of the school’s long traditions.
More than 80 West Harrison seniors took to the halls of their old middle school to celebrate their high school graduation. This tradition has been a staple for seniors at West Harrison, giving them the opportunity to see their old teachers and walk those halls one more time.
For students the tradition is fun, but it also serves a purpose. Senior Serenity Rapp said, “I think it’s very cool because we get to show the kids that you can make it in life and not give up. No matter how many times you want to and it gets hard, that you can make it.”
West Harrison Teacher Tiffani Pollard said, “It’s just an awesome opportunity to get to walk that hallway that they used to do everything in one last time. I think it’s something that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives and hopefully pass down generation to generation.”
The seniors at West Harrison will be taking the stage next Saturday for graduation.
